Most people immediately think of the “six pack of abs" when you hear the word “core." The Rectus abdominis (your six pack) is actually a superficial muscle layer that connects the rib cage and the pubic bone. Its' main function is to flex the trunk and assist in all the other functional movements of the torso. Its' great for the “look" of being strong and fit but its' not the major player when it comes down to it.
The Transverse abdominis, Internal and External Obliques are located deeper in the core of the torso, closer to the actual spine and provide the essential strength, function and stability we need for long lasting CORE POWER.
