From being a fuddy-duddy meditation-based form practiced largely by senior citizens, yoga is becoming increasingly popular with corporates today. A day in a corporate executives life is marked by stress, sedentary lifestyle, long hours in front of the computer, lack of regular exercise and improper eating habits. Consequently, professionals even in their 20s are falling prey to conditions like obesity, abnormal blood sugar levels, back injuries and heart problems.
"At least 50% of my clientele are company executives who come with problems of stress and stress-related injuries. Most of them are in the age-group of 26-45 and don't realise that even improper sleeping patterns affect their health," says Dr Poornima K, who combines ayurveda and yoga to offer solutions for her clients at Healing Touch.
